Burning Love – Rotten Thing to Say (Southern Lord -2012)
I’ve been throwing a lot of fairly demanding releases at you, but this is a fun one, as long as you don’t read into the lyrics too much. Vocalist, Chris Colohan let’s his shoulders down a little bit here after making a lifelong fan out of me with legendary cult band Cursed. This is party music fueled on piss and vinegar. So. Many. God. Damn. Hooks. Come on, try and deny ‘Karla’ or the chorus riff of ‘Superstitious Friend.’ Extra points to anyone who can name the material used to make the album cover.
