Cursed – III Architects Of Troubled Sleep (Goodfellow Records – 2004)
I don’t usually make a habit of listening to lyrics, unless the vocalist is particularly enunciated, it’s just another instrument to me. But in the case of Chris Colohan, it’s impossible not to feel the venom of his words seething into your brain. I challenge you to find a frontman with poetic storytelling as pissed off and hooky as this. You might recognise his name from the piece I did on Burning Love. This dude shits quality. Unfortunately, this dangerous beast of a band never made it past this album but their legacy has a cult status that is still felt today. If you’re at all interested in metallic hardcore, I highly recommend making your way through their discography.
