I’ve been slack the last couple of weeks, but oh boy, do I have a doozy for you this week. Do you like notes? Do you like time signatures? How about all of the above all at the same time?!
The original release of this only had the first three tracks and that was more than enough to try wrap my head around back then, so I’m sure if you’ve never heard this three-piece before, the extended version on Spotify will certainly make soup of your brain.
These guys are known for playing in other mind-bending bands like Dysrhythmia, Gorguts, Byla (that first album is gorgeous) etc. and also opting for Warr guitar (djentlemen, please) instead of boring ol’ bass.
When you realise a bunch of these parts are being played simultaneously by one guy on one instrument it either inspires motivation or defeat. I’ll stop carrying on and let you start unpacking these dense ear-candies. Enjoy!
